About Us
The vision for Ebenezer Valley Institute of Theology (EVIT) began in March 2005, when Founder Joseph Sikha first encountered the Emmaus ministry while serving in the mission field at New Bangaigaon, Assam. That encounter ignited a deep desire to study God's Word systematically through Emmaus Bible courses.
Ten years later, in March 2015, by God's sovereign plan, he was placed in the Emmaus ministry as a coordinator, taking His Word to Telugu-speaking believers. Under the guidance of National Coordinator Brother K. C. Jacob (Bangalore) and the spiritual leadership of Brother V. Sambob, the ministry expanded to many assemblies, enabling believers to study Scripture in a structured, meaningful way.
A landmark moment came in October 2016, when International Director Brother Jim Fleming visited Ebenezer Valley — a visit that greatly strengthened and advanced the Emmaus work among Telugu-speaking believers.
As the hunger for systematic Bible study grew among believers, assembly-based study centers were established. In March 2020, EABS Director Brother Sam K. John visited and conducted the E2S (Equipped to Serve) seminar, during which the urgent need for theological training was shared — and the vision for EVIT was born.
With approval from the Emmaus India Board in association with EABS, Ebenezer Valley Institute of Theology (EVIT) was officially inaugurated on 10th December 2020 and began classes on 4th January 2021 — as a ministry of Jerusalem Christian Assembly, Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh.
